Mineral makeup
Ever since I discovered the joys of mineral makeup which must have been when BareMinerals hit these shores I have never used anything else so much so if you handed me a liquid foundation I would struggle to use it.
The fact you can load a brush and swirl it around your face while still on the phone, sitting on a train or in the back of a car and somehow look flawless is a no brainer in my world added to which I can honestly say that my skin has improved since using them due to the protective and healing properties of the ingredient.
I’ve tried so many but my favourites which I now use all the time are BareMinerals, and Pur.
The hard pressed versions are the easiest to carry around and use just about anywhere with the exception of 2 little pots of wonder from BareMinerals called Well Rested and Summer Bisque which my eyes can not do without. I play around with a combination of tones dependant on the season and use to do a little shading. Like all makeup use the right tools to apply and the brushes they supply are worth the extra investment. Their blushers are obviously designed to match however other powder blushers if you have a favourite work equally as well.
What I do find a major plus with pressed mineral makeup is throughout the day to freshen it up all you have to do is powder over your face another layer and its looks as good as when you first applied.
Pur I discovered while working in Toronto it wasn’t available in the UK at the time so I used to buy it from their version of Boots a store called Shoppers.
CACI Facial
I have long been a fan of the CACI facial. It was back in 1995 when I first started using the system.
Beauty tips
It’s always good to have friends in the know, especially in the beauty industry.
Lippy
I’m never without a lipgloss they are in my car, my pockets, my bag they’re just about everywhere which is why I’m a bit of an authority on the said tube of goo.
Love My Extensions
My hair is short, choppy and difficult to do much with, but as the proud owner of fab hair extensions a whole new world of glamour has opened up to me.
Liz Earle
Over the years I have listened and carried out the beauty advise of my friend Liz Earl.
Organic Beauty
A friend of mine Alan Mackenzie has created this beautiful new range called ‘Extra Care’ I have been a fan of Organic surge for many years their body and bath treatments I’m never without, they fall so easily into my Waitrose basket.
Hair Today More Tomorrow…
Over the years I’ve thanked the angels for giving me a good head of hair, mainly because it hides my not-so-attractive ears and my flat head! It comes from the Turner side of the family; my Dad, at the age of 82, is still the proud owner of what my Mum would call ‘a good mop’.
Hair
His Hangover range is fab also check out his organic baby range. Daniel, like his father, is a colourist so why colour a client’s hair then let them use products that strip it out? These products don’t break the bank and are available through Waitrose or on line via DGJ’s website.
