Cut the Carbs & Run Like the Wind!
I’m not one for weighing myself but due to my job I have to have insurance ‘Fit to Work’ medicals at the beginning of each contract. The reason being that if I become ill there is no one to replace me and therefore if a shoot has to be cancelled the cost is enormous. Thankfully I have only ever had 2 days off in my ‘telly’ life due to illness and long may that remain. The medicals though mean I have to be weighed and it seems I’ve put on a few Kilograms since my last one. What? I did have a sneaky suspicion though, due to moving my gym activity has been a little spasmodic and being at home with teenagers who empty fridges, a husband who needs man food, builders who I buy biscuits for (that’s my excuse) temptation has been all around me.
There was a time in my life when I could eat anything but age has put a stop to all that and I really do have to think twice about that chocolate bar, second helping of pudding and my love of cakes and the biscuit jar. So on my return to Canada I did what I always do to dump weight cut the carbs and run. I’ve been doing it for 10 days now and yes my jeans are looser.
Unless you have any medical problems this really is the best way to loose weight. I am a great believer in saying no to faddy diets and just make lifestyle changes which are much easier to keep. We are all intelligent enough to know what’s good for our body and what isn’t so my advice is engage the brain and think of all those unforgiving summer clothes you need to look good in.
Now I just need to sort out the cellulite which in a bad light looks gross!
The picture is of my favourite running shoes – Nike Free. They are amazing and make you use your feet.
